Ft. Hood MTC Project Highlighted in ENR

It’s exciting to see one of our projects showcased in such a reputable publication. This photo was taken at the Mission Training Center project at Ft. Hood, Texas. MW Builders self-performed the building concrete package. The design consists of a 10" double-matted slab on top of 14" carton forms (cardboard boxes). The notion of placing this much weight on top of cardboard, while achieving the specified FF and FL requirements turned away some other concrete subcontractors, but our team took the challenge head on. At completion, the project's FF and FL testing agency noted "This is the best performing carton-formed job I have seen in 20+ years of being around concrete construction. They can be very challenge, so kudos to MW Builders."

The project team was recently awarded the Living the Values: Quality Craftsmanship award, which is one of the highest honors given at our company.
